About the JWA

The Jewish Women’s Archive is a digital archive based in Brookline, Massachusetts. The JWA’s mission is to “mak[e] known the stories, struggles, and achievements of Jewish women in North America in order to enrich the way we understand the past and to ensure a more inclusive future.” Its collection is freely accessible to all users and can be found at jwa.org.

The JWA focuses on fulfilling its mission through an online encyclopedia of Jewish women, educational materials, a blog, book and film guides, and online exhibitions. Many of the features on the organization’s website invite user interaction and contributions through commenting or correcting material.
